Subaru’s iconic WRX and WRX STI pocket-rockets offer a new layer of safety technology in Model Year 2016 variants launched today.
Already enjoying sales success on a par with its late ‘90s peak, the current generation WRX will now also have 18-inch alloy wheels, while WRX Premium and WRX STI Premium add a suite of new Vision Assist technologies including:
Entry level WRX gets a sleek new 6.2-inch touchscreen infotainment system, while WRX Premium and WRX STI Premium add a fully integrated 7-inch system, introducing a wide array of new functions, including pinch/zoom, voice recognition and Pandora compatibility.
Meanwhile, pricing of entry-level WRX STI drops $500 to $49,490, while for those fitted with a rear boot spoiler it is down $200 to $49,790.
Subaru Australia Managing Director, Nick Senior, said: “WRX is already regarded as well specced, but these latest additions make it the best ever in terms of the performance, value and features equation.
“WRX and WRX STI are already selling at levels unseen since the late 1990s and the latest list of new technologies can only boost their turbocharged sales success even further.”
