Toyota's eye-catching boost for Adelaide (708)

Toyota's eye-catching boost for Adelaide (708)

Date Added:

Australia's top-selling car company Toyota has greeted the official opening of the Adelaide Crows AFL season by announcing a new guernsey logo and on-ground signage featuring its latest car, the eye-catching C-HR.

Adelaide's major sponsor for the past 26 years, Toyota will provide three different strips for the back of player guernseys in 2017 - a first for the elite level of Australian Rules football.

The new C-HR logo - representing Toyota's first hatchback-like SUV in Australia - will feature on the Crows' jumpers for home games during the regular season from the Round 3 showdown on Saturday April 8.

The rear of Adelaide's two clash guernseys - which are predominantly yellow and white - for 2017 will feature the familiar Camry logotype, recognising Australia's best-selling mid-size car for the past 23 years.

The generic Toyota strip will be worn for Rounds 1 and 2 while Toyota's instantly recognisable corporate emblem will continue to be prominently emblazoned on the front of player guernseys for all games.

The new strips will be complemented by a significant Toyota presence at home games throughout the 23-round Toyota AFL Premiership season, including C-HR grass and LED signage.

Last year, Toyota and Adelaide announced their successful partnership would extend until at least the end of the 2019 AFL season, making it one of the most enduring relationships of its kind in Australian sport. Toyota also backs the Crows women's team.

Toyota's regional manager Philip Iannunzio said Toyota's partnership with Adelaide began in 1991 - the club's first season in the national competition and Toyota's first year as the top-selling automotive brand in the country.

"The new signage - particularly with the stunning C-HR - reflects our determination to support Adelaide in yet another successful season and its quest for a third premiership flag," Mr Iannunzio said.

Adelaide Crows CEO Andrew Fagan said the fresh look, particularly with the dynamic C-HR, was outshone only by the club's passion and desire to achieve the game's ultimate success with the backing of Toyota.

"The players, guided by coach Don Pyke and his team, have worked exceptionally hard through the pre-season to put us in the best possible position to achieve success this season," Mr Fagan said.
