Toyota's Passion On Display (405)

Toyota's Passion On Display (405)

Date Added:

Toyota will bring together its passion for cars and sport when it exhibits at the Australian Motoring Festival in Melbourne late next month.

Toyota's southern region manager Stephen Slater said Victorian families attending the four-day festival will be able to inspect Toyota vehicles in a fun atmosphere that will also celebrate Toyota's AFL and Cricket Australia sponsorships.

"At Toyota, like almost every Victorian, we love our cars and we love our sport - so we're bringing the best of both to the Australian Motoring Festival," Mr Slater said.

"Toyota's involvement will ensure families attending the festival can see and touch Australia's best-selling vehicle range in the same area as luxury limousines and high-end supercars," he said.

"This event straddles both the AFL and cricket seasons, so we're delighted elite players like St Kilda's Leigh Montagna and Melbourne's Jack Watts, as well as Victorian Bushrangers cricketers will join the crowds at various stages over the four days.

"Sports-mad Victorians young and old will be able to rub shoulders with the champions, get autographs, pick up some playing tips and maybe even match their skills against the professionals.

"We're also planning fun and games including competitions and the Oh What a Feeling! jump where show patrons can take home pictures of themselves taking a spectacular mark."

Mr Slater said Toyota was proud to be involved in the festival because Victorians last year bought more than 43,000 Toyota vehicles - a margin of more than 15,700 above any other brand.

The most popular Toyota vehicles in the state were Corolla (10,415 sales), Camry (7,124) and HiLux (6,681) - and all three will feature prominently at the festival.

A central exhibit will be Toyota's HiLux Black - a special-edition model that adds an edgy new style to the ruggedness of the state's, and the nation's, best-selling four-wheel-drive vehicle.

Toyota's display will also include the racy 86 sports car, legendary LandCruiser and Prado vehicles, popular SUVs like RAV4 and Kluger as well as low fuel-sipping heroes from the Prius family.

The Australian Motoring Festival (www.australianmotoringfestival.com.au) is at the Melbourne Showgrounds from Thursday March 26 to Sunday March 29.
