Suzuki Australia hits high note with February sales, cementing its strong position into 2016.
February 2016 sales results (Private Sales, SAPL Only – excluding QLD sales), compared with the same period last year, have seen total sales growth of 10%.
This is a consistent trend for Suzuki Australia, with 2015 delivering 11% total sales increase year on year.
A key driver of this growth was the introduction of Suzuki’s Vitara, an iconic, flagship model that in February was sitting 6th out of 27th models in the crowded Compact SUV segment <40K. Whilst there has been a lack of available stock, shipments are now arriving - resulting in shorter lead times for customers.
When asked about the importance of this vehicle for the Japanese brand, Suzuki Australia General Manager Automobiles, Andrew Moore said: “The Vitara has gone from strength to strength, delivering a value-packed vehicle which has been successful in both bringing new customers to the brand and meeting our existing customer’s needs.”
Further consolidating the Vitara’s SUV credentials was the Drive ‘Best City SUV’ award, by one of Australia’s leading motoring outlets.
The Suzuki Swift also maintained its mantle as one of Australia’s favourite light hatches, securing 2nd position in VFACT Sales YTD in the light segment <$25K.
Moore advised: “Suzuki is focusing on our core strengths; light vehicles & compact SUV’s, which with the addition of both the Vitara Turbo and the Baleno by mid-2016, will put us in a position to take advantage of these growing segments.”
