Toyota Racing Development
TRD Aurion
Toyota Racing Development's first Australian creation, the TRD Aurion, is the result of our constant questioning of the status quo.
A car that enhances performance in every way, yet maintains integrity in every aspect. A car that harnesses our motorsport heritage. A car that delivers more power than any other Toyota ever sold in Australia. In short, a car that excites.

Performance
Power and fuel economy
A supercharged 3.5L V6 engine delivering 241kW of power and
400Nm of torque. All while maintaining an average fuel
consumption of 10.9L/100km^
^Fuel consumption will vary depending on driving conditions /
style, vehicle conditions and options / accessories. Source of
fuel consumption data: ADR81/01 combined cycle.
Dual VVT-i technology
The astounding powerplant of the TRD Aurion gives a perfect
example of our race-developed learnings in action. It starts
with Dual VVT-i technology that varies the timing to the intake
and exhaust valves throughout the rev range. So whether
youre at idle, cruising or overtaking, the engine will optimse
fuel consumption and maximise power output to meet your
demands.

Safety and handling
Unique TRD Sports Suspension
A unique sports suspension setup with springs that are lower and stiffer and a specially matched damper configuration puts more control into the body, thereby improving the overall handling performance and agility. Negative camber helps in that department too, giving the car less bodyroll in corners and more precise steering. All of which means agro never overtakes agility.
Drivers Assist Technologies (DAT)
For those times when the unexpected can't be avoided, the TRD Aurion boasts an array of Driver Assist Technologies (DAT) that are very reassuring. The sensors, actuators, and computing power of Vehicle Stability Control (VSC), for instance, continually ask questions of the road itself to anticipate and control skidding. Say, for example, you're on a winding alpine road when you hit a section of black-ice. Having sensed a break in traction, the VSC will automatically go to work by controlling the engine output and easing or increasing pressure on the front and rear brakes independently, to help you stay in control. Traction Control (TRC) also minimises wheel slippage to ensure acceleration is all it can be. Housed within a chassis optimised for rigidity and pitch control, it's technology that helps eliminate incidents before they unfold.
TRD Wheel and brake package
High friction performance pads and twin-piston aluminium
performance callipers (single at rear) combine to give
reassurance and consistent stopping power. The four 19x8"
performance alloys improve brake ventilation and preserve
impact resilience. Wrapped in 245/35ZR 19 Dunlop SportMaxx
Performance tyres, they're the perfect link between the
technology of the car and the surface of the road. AB-i (Active
Braking with intelligence) comprising of: Electronic Brake-force
Distribution (EBD), Anti-skid Braking System (ABS) and Brake
Assist (BA) also plays a strong role in keeping you out of
trouble.
Passive Safety
In the unlikely event that a collision can't be avoided you can
rest a little easier knowing that the TRD Aurion also features
driver and front passenger SRS airbags, as well as dual front
side SRS and dual front and rear curtain shield airbags. Not
forgetting pre-tensioning, force-limiting seat belts and sports
seats which incorporate Whiplash Injury Lessening (WIL)
technology.

Exterior
Uniquely Australian design
Think statement, not screaming. Purposeful, not poseur.
Evocative, not extreme. The design aspect of the TRD Aurion
is a dynamic exhibition of form and function created by a
team of passionate performance engineers right here in
Australia.
TRD Body Kit
The racetrack-inspired 'R' from the TRD logo blends subtly into
the mesh of the front grille. The body kit, including a twin
plane rear spoiler & side skirts answers the question of
aerodynamic efficiency with stirring design. The front air dam,
for example, isn't simply aesthetically similar to Toyota's F1
design but is functionally similar too, providing impressive
downforce and roadholding.
Rear sports bumper with 'Venturi Style' diffusers
Even the exhaust tips, so often an afterthought in performance
cars, were looked at critically – did they have to be simply
'bolted on'? To match up to our high aesthetic demands in the
same way as the rest of the car does, they've been integrated
into the rear bumper.
19" Alloy wheels
Four 19x8" alloy wheels and low profile tyres complete the
picture giving the TRD Aurion a muscular yet refined look.

Interior
Styling
The signature racetrack inspired 'R' featured in the front grille
is also subtly integrated in the seat bolsters on both models.
This complements the more overt TRD embossed seat backs,
dash plaque, scuff plates, and for the 3500SL, a leather bound
gear knob. The interior of the 3500S, with its red alcantara and
leather accents, creates an extroverted ambience. Whilst the
plum leather of the 3500SL gives a more prestigious sports
feel. Both grades have alcantara seat inserts that help maintain
your driving position even in the tightest of corners, creating
the feeling that this car just wants to be driven.
Steering
While the steering wheel takes its cues from its Toyota F1
counterpart, it's been refined to ensure that its grip provides
the optimal driver feedback and consequently, the ultimate in
driving pleasure.

Optitron Instrument Panel
An Optitron instrument cluster makes for greater clarity by
increasing the visual contrast between the meter and the
meter readings. It also makes for greater understanding with a
multi-information display keeping you up to date with fuel
range and consumption, driving time and average speed.
Comfort and Convenience
Just because you're driving a performance vehicle, it doesn't
mean you have to give up comfort and convenience. The TRD
Aurion features:
- 6 disc in-dash CD Changer with MP3/WMA compatibility
- 8 way power adjustable driver's seat. Plus 6 way power
adjustable passenger seat in 3500SL
- Smart Entry and Start System on 3500SL
- Dual zone climate control air conditioning on 3500SL
- Optional DVD Satellite Navigation with Bluetooth™
compatibility^ on 3500SL
^Bluetooth™ will only operate with telephones enabled with
compatible Bluetooth™ wireless technology (HFP [Hands Free
Profile] version 1.0 and OPP [Object Push Profile] version 1.1
international standards)
