Engineering Dynamics
Subaru BRZ Boxer
At the heart of Subaru BRZ beats our famed horizontally-opposed Boxer engine.
The high revving 2.0-litre, four cylinder Boxer engine features both direct and port injection technology, producing 147kW of power and 205Nm of torque, for a throaty engine roar that’s pure fun.
The Boxer engine is instrumental in achieving Subaru BRZ's low centre of gravity and was used for its compact size and symmetrical layout. This means it sits as low and as close as possible to the centre of the vehicle, giving it one of the lowest centres of gravity in a production car.
Combined with rear-wheel drive the result is a pure, fun and dynamic sports car driving experience.
Subaru BRZ Drivetrain and Suspension
Suspension has been specifically tuned to provide handling excellence, inspiring the confidence expected by a true sports car.
Front suspension has been designed to produce direct, sharp response, and the rear suspension has been designed to increase driver feel for the road, making it easier to guage rear wheel grip.
Subaru BRZ offers superior ride comfort and low levels of impact harshness, while maintaining sharp steering response and excellent dynamic balance characteristics due to the low centre of gravity, inherent in the design of Subaru boxer engine.

Styling
The classic sports design of the Subaru BRZ gives it great on-road presence. Its wide and low stance, underlined by muscular flared wheel arches, combines with the compact cabin to offer a hint at the performance within.
The heavily bolstered sports seats give the driver a true feel for the road and the rally-inspired cockpit combine to give an unapologetic sports car driving feeling.

One of the year’s most anticipated motorsport packages was unveiled at the 2012 Australian International Motor Show (AIMS), in the form of a potent track-ready Subaru BRZ.
Subaru Australia is displaying the latest creation from long-term partner, New Zealand-based Possum Bourne Motorsport (PBMS).
Subaru enjoyed a decade of dominance in the Australian Rally Championship, working alongside PBMS.
