When Jarvis Ford was purchased by a new owner in 1994, it was operating as a single location new Ford and used car dealership from Portrush Road, Norwood, east of the Adelaide CBD. At the time, the range of new Ford cars were very different from the range of models we see today. There was of course the ever popular new Falcon, however the new Fords that are now sold by Jarvis Ford, not just from Jarvis Ford Norwood but also from Jarvis Ford Hillcrest, now all carry completely
different names and of course, much improved style and road handling.
Ford Motor Company has spent millions of dollars in the development of its vehicles. Take the Ford Fiesta as an example. The Fiesta, unlike previous Ford small cars, is entirely German design and build. Jarvis Ford was delighted when the Ford Fiesta was introduced into the Australian market in 2004 – not only was it a fantastic replacement for the previous small Ford car, the Ford Festiva, it also immediately began winning awards for its amazing performance, including RAA small car of the year. The Fiesta has proven extremely popular with Jarvis Ford customers, and featured in one of Jarvis Ford’s television commercials. The Fiesta range includes the Fiesta LX, Fiesta Zetec and Fiesta Ghia.
2005 saw the arrival of the all new Ford Focus. The name Focus had been used by Ford Motor Company in Europe for many years. When Ford decided to discontinue production of the Ford Laser, the Ford Focus, and like the Fiesta also German engineered, became the Ford replacement medium sized car. The Focus range includes Focus CL Sedan, Focus CL Hatch, Focus LX Sedan, Focus LX Hatch, Focus Zetec, Focus XR5, Focus Ghia and Focus Cabriolet.
Ford recently launched in Australia the European designed and built Ford Mondeo which won the Australian Best Medium Size Car Award for 2007. The new Ford Mondeo is available in Mondeo LX Sedan, Mondeo TDCI Hatch, Mondeo TDCI Sedan, Mondeo Zetec Hatch, Mondeo XR5 Hatch. Jarvis Ford is one the largest selling Mondeo dealers in Australia. 2007 also saw the release of the all new Ford Focus Cabriolet, the first convertible Ford has produced since the Ford Capri. One of the biggest changes to the Ford range occurred with the arrival of the new Ford Territory. Territory was Ford’s first Sports Utility Vehicle
