In all models except the Focus XR5 Turbo and turbo diesel Focus TDCi, power is transferred smoothly from the 2.0L Duratec 16V 4 cylinder engine by a 5-speed manual or optional 4-speed automatic# with Sequential Sports Shift. Choose the Focus XR5 Turbo and you’ll experience an exhilarating drive as its highly refined 6-speed manual transmission taps into the sizzling power of the smooth-revving 2.5L 20V 5 cylinder turbo engine. While the Focus TDCi is no slouch with its fuel efficient 4 cylinder turbo diesel engine. Completing the package, Control Blade Independent Rear Suspension and electro-hydraulic power steering combine to deliver a smoother ride with precise cornering.

there’s no compromise.
No one wants to be involved in an accident. However, it’s good to know that all Ford Focus models come with standard safety features including driver, front passenger and side front airbags. ABS with Electronic Brakeforce Distribution is also standard to help ensure a safer drive. You also have the added benefit of Dynamic Stability Control* and Traction Control on Zetec, Ghia, XR5 Turbo and Coupé-Cabriolet models to help you avoid trouble. If you are in an accident, your Focus has the built-in safety features to handle the situation as smoothly as possible. In an emergency, the Intelligent Safety System (ISS) goes to work instantly. Crash severity monitors located around the vehicle tell the Advanced Restraints Module (ARM) which safety features to deploy, and when. Depending on the locality and the severity of the accident, front and side front airbags are activated and where required side curtain airbags^ are deployed. Other safety features include energy absorbing crumple zones to reduce the force of the impact and an anti-intrusion brake pedal that collapses away from the driver’s legs to reduce the chance of leg injuries.
