Falcon's always put your safety first, that's why it was the first Australian built car to receive a 5-Star ANCAP safety rating. And that's why we're pleased to announce the addition of side curtain airbags as standard across our entire Falcon sedan range. We've also added side head/thorax airbags as standard across the Falcon Ute range giving you peace of mind whether you're at work or play.
EcoLPi Falcon
Available on Falcon Ute, Falcon R6 Ute and Falcon XR6 Ute.
Developed by Ford Australia, EcoLPi will be the most advanced LPG technology available, delivering substantial fuel savings compared with both traditional petrol and LPG engines. Best of all, there is no compromise on engine performance. The EcoLPi engine delivers an astounding 198kW of power at 5000rpm and 409Nm of torque at 3250rpm.
EcoLPi available on non 1-tonne variants from August 2011 and 1-tonne variants from December 2011. EcoLPi not available on XR6 Turbo.
Falcon MkII EcoBoost™
From early 2012 the new FG Falcon MkII will be available with Ford's latest EcoBoost™ engine technology.
EcoBoost™ uses direct injection and turbocharging to enable the Falcon to deliver the kind of performance you’d expect from a Falcon, with the fuel economy of a smaller vehicle. EcoBoost™ is all about efficiencies.
A next-generation direct injection system ensures more precise fuel delivery, extensive use of aluminium components help reduce weight and low-inertia turbocharging delivers unparalleled levels of performance.
As well as impressive fuel economy and lower CO2 emissions, EcoBoost™ makes for a spine-tingling driving experience, with plenty of low-end torque and responsive performance right across the rev range. The incorporation of a turbocharger and direct injection technology ensures that the EcoBoost™ engine stays powerful and responsive at all engine speeds, delivering a much broader spread of power.
