FJ Cruiser scoops 4x4 of the year award 2011
Toyota's FJ Cruiser capped off its first year on sale in Australia by winning 4x4 Australia magazine's 4x4 of the Year title.
FJ Cruiser beat the Jeep Grand Cherokee diesel, Range Rover Vogue TDV8 and Mercedes-Benz G 350 BlueTEC to take the top prize.

Hybrid Camry wins two major awards
Toyota Australia's locally built Hybrid Camry has won its first two major Australian awards.
Nine of Australia's most senior motoring journalists have voted Hybrid Camry as the winner of the prestigious Green Innovation Award.
Hybrid Camry has also been named winner of the People's Choice Award in an on-line poll.
Aurion AT-X named Australia's Best Large Car
Toyota's Aurion AT-X has been judged the 2009 best large car in the country by the nation's motoring clubs, claiming the title at Australia's Best Cars Awards in Melbourne.
Aurion AT-X won for the third time in four years by scoring highest in the hotly contested category, defeating its more established rivals that included the Ford Falcon XR6 and Holden's Commodore Omega.
Prius wins Green Innovation Award
The environmental credentials of Toyota's fuel-efficient third-generation Prius have been recognised with the announcement of its first two major Australian awards.
The latest Prius, launched in Australia in July, today won a prestigious Green Innovation Award and People's Choice Award.
Multiple Awards Success for Toyota
Eight Toyota vehicles from the compact Yaris to the legendary LandCruiser have been named winners or finalists in the latest national motoring awards.
LandCruiser is a double winner - being judged Best 4WD over $40,000 in one award and taking out the Large SUV title in another.
Toyota iQ Wins Car of the Year... in Japan
The revolutionary Toyota iQ, the world's smallest four-seater passenger car, has won the 2008 Japan Car of the Year award by a landslide over rivals such as the Citroën C5, Audi A4 and Jaguar XF.
The innovative iQ scored more than double the points of the second placed, receiving top marks from 39 of the 65 jurors who voted.
Toyota Wins Four 4WD Awards
Toyota vehicles have won four of the 10 annual 4WD awards announced in the August issue of leading magazine Overlander.
The publication said LandCruiser 200 Series is the best large petrol wagon in Australia.
It also said HiLux is the best diesel ute and LandCruiser Prado offers both the best petrol and best diesel medium wagons.
Toyota Prius Wins Inaugural Eco Car Award
Australia's first car magazine devoted to the environment has presented its inaugural technology and innovation award to the world's first mass-produced hybrid vehicle, Toyota Prius.
ECO Car magazine publisher Chris Mullett said Prius is "the product that encapsulates hybrid in its best form".
"It offers a long-term solution that will continue to be developed," he said.
Prius Wins International Green Engine Award
The petrol-electric hybrid engine that powers the Toyota Prius has been named Green Engine of the Year by an international panel of experts.
Judges said the Prius engine remains the world's leader in reducing emissions without compromising performance.
The Green Engine of the Year is for an engine designed with fuel economy as a priority and which employs intelligent technologies to reduce emissions.
Landcruiser 'Quinella' in 4WD Award
Toyota Australia's LandCruiser 200 Series has claimed first and second places in Overlander magazine's 4WD of the Year award.
The magazine said LandCruiser had won the quinella with the GXL turbo-diesel narrowly out-pointing its VX petrol stablemate.
"The new turbo-diesel 200 is not just 4WD of the Year for 2007. It is good enough to be 4WD of the decade," Overlander said.
Toyota Dominates On-line People's Choice Award
Toyota has dominated the 2007 Carsales Network People's Choice Awards, winning five of the 13 categories.
Toyota Yaris won the light car category, while Toyota LandCruiser picked up the large SUV award.
Toyota Prado was the most popular Medium SUV.
Toyota Aurion AT-X Named Best Large Car in Australia
Toyota's Aurion AT-X is the best large car available on the Australian market - for the second year running, according to Australia's influential motoring clubs.
Announcing the 2007 Australia's Best Cars awards, the clubs' judges said Toyota's 'big six' has continued to outstrip its traditional rivals including Holden Commodore Omega, Ford Falcon XT and Mitsubishi 380 ES.
Three Toyotas Named Drive Car of the Year Winners
Three Toyota vehicles - Aurion, Kluger and LandCruiser - have been awarded prestigious "car of the year" awards by leading Australian motoring journalists.
The 200kW Aurion AT-X V6 was named Best Large Car; seven-seat Kluger KX-R 2WD was voted Best People Mover; and LandCruiser GXL with its twin-turbo V8 diesel engine was judged Best 4WD over $40,000.
